Thank you for visiting Piano Tuning and Rebuilding by Amy Marshall.
It is my hope that you will find these pages helpful and informative.
For over 30 years, I have provided piano service in homes and
institutions. I believe that a big part of my job is to inform you
about your instrument and the best way to care for it. To
understand some of the terms which piano technicians often use, refer to
the
glossary.
Tuning is the most basic maintenance needed for every
piano. Careful, frequent, expert tuning is what will bring out
the best in your instrument, and preserve its life. Like regular
doctor visits, problems can be detected early and treated before they
grow. For any questions you have about your piano, please feel
free to contact us at
(724)935-9420 or

In addition to tuning, I also provide many other services such as
repairs, regulation, key and ivory repair, restringing, rebuilding,
refinishing, safe piano storage, movers,
appraisals,
condition surveys, third party damage claims and more. I am also
uniquely qualified to care for and restore historic pianos. For
almost two decades, I was the director of piano restoration for the
Pittsburgh Art Conservation Laboratory. Through the years, I have
put together a consortium of craftsmen, each serving you in his
special field. Look for information
about them on the
about us
page. I tune pianos in
Wexford, Cranberry, Pittsburgh, Butler, Gibsonia, Fox Chapel, Sewickley;
in fact, I travel to most destinations in Allegheny and Butler counties.
I am a Steinway trained technician, and one of the services of which I am most proud is
the restoration and
rebuilding of Steinway pianos. As you may know, there is
some
controversy about what work and parts should go into a Steinway
instrument after
it has left the factory, and who is qualified to do it. Please visit
the
Rebuilding Steinways
page for a summary of my policy
and practices on
Steinway pianos. I love pianos, and taking care
of them! I hope that I can be of service to you. |
