1977- Present:   I have been self-employed as a piano technician, tuner and re-builder.  I also am the owner and founder of Safe Piano Storage of the Greater Pittsburgh Area.  In addition to being the owner and operator of these enterprises, I was the Director of Piano Restoration for Pittsburgh Art Conservation Laboratory for 19 years.  This experience working with Conservators has uniquely prepared me to rebuild and restore vintage and historic pianos, and pianos with Art Cabinets. My “Opus Magnus” was performing the rebuilding and conservation of the Claire Booth Luce 1905 Steinway in a Louis XIV Art Cabinet.  I also personally rebuilt the Rachel Carson 1865 Steinway.  During 33 years of piano service, I have rebuilt over 60 Grand pianos and restored many more, while tuning up to 1,000 pianos per year.
